Disneyland with Mimi, Papa, and Chase

Paige eating a snack while waiting in line for a train ride.
It is always cold, rainy or snowing when Taylor's parents come to visit. This time it rained and was cold. It didn't rain at Disneyland until right before we left.
Waiting for the show Aladdin to start. It was like a Broadway play. There was flying carpets and the Gennie was hilarious.
Callie dancing at Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Preston and Dad watching Mickey too.

Mimi, Papa, and Chase come for Thanksgiving

Paige and Papa
Chase being lazy.
Papa and Preston taking a nap together.

Callie's lost her 1st tooth

Callie lost her first tooth on Monday night when the Missionaries came to dinner. She was eating dinner and told us her tooth was loose and Taylor told her to twist it and her tooth came out. I thought she was very brave. She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come but the tooth fairy forgot! Whoops! She came the next night and made up for it.
It was kind of bloody after she pulled it out. It gave me the willies.

The signal

Preston and his sword balloon!

Preston got to push the button to move the signal up and down. All kids love to push buttons.

BNSF 125th Anniversary

Callie was so excited to get her face painted. She kept asking at home if it was still on her face.

They also had clowns blowing up balloon characters. Preston got a sword and Callie a dog.

BNSF 125th Anniversary

On Saturday we went to this 125th Anniversary of the 1st Train over the Cajon Pass into San Bernardino. It was for the whole community. There was probably 1,000 people there. They had a cute little train ride for the kids. We rode this while Taylor and my friend's husband stood in line for free food. The line for kettle corn and snow cones were an hour wait.
Callie, her friend Amara and brother Dean.
The train.
They passed out conductor hats. So cute.
Waiting in line for free face painting. The train car behind me was where you could look at the engine. The line was also 1 hour. No thanks.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

I got this recipe from allrecipes.com. It is really good. I did 2 loaf pans and the rest in the mini muffin pan. The kids gobbled them right up.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 1 pound size coffee cans, or three 9x5 inch loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, pumpkin, oil, water, and eggs. Beat until smooth. Blend in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Fill cans 1/2 to 3/4 full.
  3. Bake for 1 hour, or until an inserted knife comes out clean. Cool on wire racks before removing from cans or pans.

Paige

Paige is now crawling at 9 months old. She weighs about 13 pounds. Is there something missing? I thought it was so funny she kept putting her feet up.
Callie put Paige in her doll stroller. I remember doing that with my cousin when I was young.

Halloween!

It stinks that Halloween falls on Sunday this year. The kids only got to wear the costume once. Oh well.
Preston really wanted Taylor to be Goofy. We aren't really into dressing up though. It costs to much money and we enjoy seeing what others dressed up as.

Trunk or Treat!

Preston loves Mickey Mouse. He watches it 3 times a day. The ears even squeak. He loved wearing it.
Callie was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She looked so pretty.
I didn't really do a costume for Paige. I found this cute little pumpkin outfit. I really liked the orange tutu.

Pulling up!

I put Paige on the floor while fixing lunch and she pulled herself up onto the drawer. I was proud. She is crawling a little bit as well.
So Cute!

Totally matching!

Callie has spirit week for school and is supposed to wear a different color every day. Today was yellow but all we had in yellow was short sleeve and it was cold today. She told me she was cold when we got home and so she went to change. She came down with every color imaginable. I thought it was so funny so I took a picture.

Getting mobile.

I haven't posted anything in a while. We went to Idaho and Park City, Utah from October 1-10 and forgot my camera. I was so mad. So no pictures to show for it. I won't tell you about it because you don't want to read about our trip; you would rather look at photos. So here are of the kids. Callie holding Paige. She loves to hold her but I don't like when she does. Paige is the smiliest baby. People usually comment about her smile when were out and about.
She isn't crawling quite yet but can spin around in a circle and pull up onto things. Sorry it is blurry.
She was crying about something. Thought it was a cute picture.
She also reaches way far for something she really wants.
My babies seem to have tongue feddishes. Preston did this same thing when he was her age. They love to stick it out.

Disneyland

I picked up Callie after school and Taylor on the way and headed to Disneyland. The whole park was decorated for Halloween. I loved this huge Mickey Mouse Pumpkin. So cute. Even the flowers were orange and brown. The weather was perfect. Paige screamed the entire time on It's a small world. I felt bad for the other riders.
Ariel and Sleeping Beauty telling stories. All the children were memorized.

Preston loves Mickey Mouse. He watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every day or more. He wanted to go visit Mickey's house.

Labor Day Activities

Yesterday Taylor had off work. We called some friends and went bowling and then went to eat lunch. It was fun visiting with friends and the kids had a lot of fun.Taylor was the best bowler in our group. Go Taylor!
Callie and her good friends, Skylee and Kelsey.
Preston ready to bowl.
Bowling shoes are so ugly. I think I had the oldest ones in the place.
Just a random picture of all 3.

Double chocolate cookie bars

My friend made these. Check out her blog at swankypear.com. They were to die for. I will definitely be making these again. They were so easy too. Thanks Summer.

Double Chocolate Cookie Bars

24 OREO cookies
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Set aside 6 cookies and grind the rest in a food processor or blender. IN a small bowl, stir together the cookie crumbs and butter until well blended. Press into the bottom of a 9x13 pan.

Over a double broiler or in the microwave (for 1 minute), melt 1 cup of chocolate chips together with the condensed milk. Stir and add the vanilla. Stir frequently until smooth. Spread evenly over the crumb crust. Sprinkle the remaining cup of chocolate chips over the top. Break remaining cookies into pieces by hand and sprinkle over the top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes in the oven. Cool completely before cutting into the bars.
