Vroom, Vroom!

Our neighbor friend was taking his girls for a ride on his motorcycle and offered to take Callie and Preston.  Callie went first and loved it.  I was a little nervous but felt better when they had to wear helmets.

Chad said to our kids to tell their Dad that they rode on the fastest motorcycle there is.    It is a Honda and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds.

Preston looks like one of those evil dudes from Star Wars that march around in  the white suits and helmets.    He looks funny with such a big head.

Preston is obsessed with motorcycles but he seemed scared.  He loved it after the ride was over.

Zesty Chicken crockpot tacos

Zesty Chicken crockpot tacos

When I make this for my family I half the recipe and we still have left overs.  You gotta try this recipe.

4 chicken breasts
1 bottle zesty italian dressing (I use Kraft)
1 tbs. cumin
1 tbs. chili powder
2 gloves minced garlic

Cook on low for 6 hours.  My crockpot cooks a little faster.  Then shred with fork and add all the fixings you like on your tacos.  You can also put this on chips to make nachos or taco salad.  It is so yummy.  Thanks Melissa Durham.

Paige

Paige went for her 1st dental appointment on Tuesday.  She was so good.  The dental hygentist and dentist could not believe she would open her mouth and let them clean her teeth.  I guess most little ones cry.  She got to pick out 2 toys from the treasure box because she cooperated.  She picked a pad of paper and the stamp which she then licked and put on her head.  Oh and she brought home a pink bag full of Mickey Mouse toothpaste.  She loves Mickey Mouse!

Paige really enjoys sitting on the counter and  helping me cook.    The last week whenever she doesn't get her way and starts to cry, she goes in her room, shuts the door, and then asks if she is done in time out.  I never put her in time out but I guess she knows she isn't behaving right.  I thought it was too cute.

Update on our house

They have made good progress but I am sure it will slow down.  Roof should be on early next week.  Builder said plumbing and electrical would be put in by the end of the week.  We are so excited.  Taylor's parents drove over Friday night to see the house and they are getting excited about it too.

My little stud!

I bought these sunglasses for Preston this week.  They reminded me of the movie Top Gun.  He looks like such a stud when he wears them.

Time out for Women

Taylor's sister, Carrie and I went to Time out for Women on Friday night and Saturday .  We had a great time.  It was nice to get away for a day and a half.  We got these adorable tote bags that are grey and pink.  So excited about those.
Some of the speakers were Dean Hughes, author of Children of the Promise, author of President Monson's autobiography, can't remember her name, and Dallyn Vail Bayles who toured with Les Miserables.  On Saturday the speakers were Mary Ellen Edmunds, Julie De Azevedo Hanks, Mercy River( a trio of singers), D. Kelly Ogden, Emily Watts, and Sara Wells and Katie Jones from, "Our Best Bites".  That was awesome because my friend gave me the cook book for my birthday last year and I love their recipes.

Our house can't come soon enough

Taylor went to our house today after church and took some photos.  The kids loved going.

This will be our back patio.

Easter Sunday and petting zoo

 I love Callie's poses!
 Sisterly love.

Our neighbor's son works at Chick-fil-A just down the street and they told us they had a small petting zoo in the parking lot.  It was something fun to break up the night.

It was funny seeing sheep and turtles right beside each other.

Paige liked standing on a stool looking into the pig pen.  I  love her blue eyes!
Callie looking at the smelly cows.
The little piglets were so cute.

This is our house!  They finally poured the foundation this week.

Conference Weekend/Easter Hunt

Conference weekend we went over to Taylor's sister's house in Dallas.  Taylor's other siblings came and his parents.  We had a great time.  We watched conference and had dinner together, (the traditional Texas meal, brisket from the bbq) yum!

Helping Paige find eggs.

Since the move to Texas I have been doing my hair wavy.   With the humidity I have more curl.

Texas Tornadoes!

Thanks for your many, many texts and phone calls this week about concern for our family.  We were okay during the many storms around Dallas/Ft. Worth but some were not.  This house is a family friend in Arlington, about 30 minutes east of here.  Their home was hit on Wednesday and is a complete loss.  The house has a basement which kept them safe during the storm.  Wouldn't it be weird to walk out of the basement and see the sky?  The neighbors next to them had a lot of damage as well and also across the street.  A few houses down had no damage.  Tornadoes are crazy that they can destroy one house and not touch the house next door.  Many ward members were helping them get all of their belongings.  It was an unbelievable sight.  There were pieces of siding hanging from the tops of trees and a 2x4 protruding from a brick wall.

Cousins and Fort Worth Zoo

Austin and Paige riding the 4 wheeler

Paige trying to touch the sting rays.

Riding in Preston's, teachers stroller.

Preston loves turtles.

They watched a show at the zoo about texas weather.  It had rain, thunder , and lightning .  Paige got a little scared.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

On our move out to Texas we stopped by our friends in Albuquerque.
We have known Lance and Kylee since college.  We went to eat at the Melting Pot.   It was delicious.  It was a new experience for us.

Paige sleeping in a little chair, just her size, at Lance and Kylee' house.

Our kids loved riding this battery powered car.

Paige was so cute riding in the back.

Our hotel in Albuquerque had a slide into the pool.  We planned to stay at a different hotel  but our friends suggested this one.
