Day 4 in NYC

We purchased tickets to ride around NYC on a double decker bus.  It was great, you could get off when you wanted to get pictures and it was a break from all the walking.
The Empire State building is behind me between all the buildings.
Macy's department store in New York City is the largest store in the world.  It takes up an entire block. Not that impressed on the inside.  Looks like any other Macy's.

Empire State Building.  We didn't go up to the top.  There were so many things to see and do.
The Flatiron building looks like an iron.
The original Macy's Store.  If you look closely you can see R.H. Macy.
A memorial for 9/11.  They are tiles that people hung on the fence.
It was chilly the few days we rode the bus.
Wallstreet
The bull on Wallstreet.

This was left from the 9/11 attacks.
Chinatown
United Nations building.
One of the Trump towers.
The Waldorf Astoria Hotel from the movie Pretty Woman.  This is where the movie was filmed.
NBC Studios where the Today show is filmed.
Rockefeller center.
The statue of Columbus.  It is called Columbus circle and there is shopping and restaurants.
Taylor saw this taxi and wanted a picture.
Museum of Natural History where Night at the Museum was filmed.
We only went in to front lobby.
Metropolitan museum of Art.  It was so beautiful inside.  They don't construct buildings like this anymore.

Grand Central Station.  At the top level it's an Apple store.  Crazy!
Rebuilding the towers.  We got tickets to Ground Zero on Sunday night.  It was surreal to be there.
There are 2 large cascading waterfalls where the 2 towers once stood.

All the people who lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11 and in the first bombing at the World Trade Center had their names engraved along the edge.
It says "Save".  This is where the museum will be.  This was a long fork looking beam on the outside of one of the towers.

This tree survived the attacks that day but was uprooted and put in a location in another state and then returned back to Ground Zero.
The firefighters who wore this hat survived the attacks.  They shared it that day.

A man proposed with a $2 bill representing their second marriage.  They were to keep it in their wallets always.  He had just started a new job at the world trade center and never made it out.  They found this in the rubble.

The bull market is an up market because it attacks up and a bear market is down because it attacks down.  That's why it is called that.  Never knew it was how the animal attacked.

We then ended at Max Brenner's restaurant.  It had pipe filled with chocolate throughout the restaurant. We had the macaroni and cheese which was amazing and a pizza with chocolate spread and marshmallows toasted on top.  So good.
