Sand car

Garcia lake

This past weekend we went up to our friends lake house near Barstow. It was so fun. We road their boat and jet skis and just relaxed. Our friend Paul has a car that he built that rides on the sand. I can't remember what its called. It was awesome. Your strapped in like a child's car seat and we were flying over hills and going up things that I didn't think were possible without getting hurt.In Paul's car already to go. We had to wear head phones and a microphone piece so we could talk to each other. At first I was really nervous and then scared but it was awesome. He made this car from scratch. Unbelievable!

Trying to get buckled.
Taylor's turn.

Preston got to ride this little car which Paul built as well. He loved it. It was really loud though. He loves anything with an engine. He is such a boy.

Girls night out!

Lindsey, Lindsey's mom, me, Rachel and Kristen. It was Lindsey's Birthday so we decided to do a girls night. They went shopping before dinner. I met them at BJ's and then we hit Target afterwards. It was fun just wandering around with no screaming children. Thanks Taylor for watching the kids.

Ward Campout!

After we went to breakfast in Oceanside we went to our ward campout in San Clemente. It was just 20 minutes away. We obviously didn't camp but it was fun to see everyone. The kids had fun playing with everybody from church.
One of the counselors from our Bishopric buried Preston. He played with that shovel the whole time.

My friend Liana had a little snooze. Lucky.
Callie, Addison, and Mia had fun playing together.

Oceanside

Our friends Jeff and Lindsey invited us to stay at their grandparents condo in Oceanside. We got their on Friday afternoon and visited for a little bit. We then hit the beach and the pool/hot tub. We went out to eat that night for pizza and then had ice cream. While walking on the harbor we saw a large seal making funny noises. Then another seal came up on the dock and they started fighting. It was so funny. Jeff took a picture with his i-phone but it got deleted. I was bumbed.
At the pier in Oceanside. We went to eat at the end of the pier at Ruby's diner. It was so yummy. We had cinnamon swirled french toast.Jeff, Lindsey, and Macy.
I painted Paige's toes; I don't know if you can see it in the picture.
Me and Paige. She really likes the beach and being outside.

Callie's First Day of Kindergarten

Callie standing outside with her other classmates waiting to go in.
Callie giving Preston a good bye hug. How cute! I was kind of sad. I didn't think I would be.
Callie walking into her classroom ready for school to start.
Callie and Preston outside our house.
Her classroom door. I think Callie will love school. She is very social. There are also 4 other kids in her class from church. So that's nice to know someone.

Little Mermaid Ballet

Not a great picture, but that was the stage. It was a really nice night. Not to hot.

Preston ate 5 of them.

Friday night we went with some friends to the Redlands Bowl Music Festival. It had some cool probs but a little boring with no words spoken. I had never been to a ballet before. But it was fun hanging out under the stars eating chocolate covered strawberries and kettle corn. Callie liked sitting with her friends and watching the show.

My Paige!

She is always sticking out her tongue. It is pretty funny.

My friend made this for her little girl. It is a headband with pig tails. I saw her at church and it was really cute. So she made one for me. Callie and Preston love it on her. There is the tongue again.

More Beach

My friend Katy and Kristen, and her friend, Laura.

Day at the beach

On Monday we decided to go to the beach with some friends. Especially since school starts next week. It was a perfect day. The water was chilly but it was tolerable after a while. Callie was so brave body surfing the waves. While in Texas she learned to swim so I guess she felt more confident. Here are some pictures of our fun day.So cute, their little heads poking out. Callie had so much fun with Addison.

Preston just dances around the water. He never goes in to far.
Paige bathing on her beach towel. She liked when I put her toes in the water.
Corona Del Mar beach. It is so beautiful with all the houses.

So small

Paige went to the doctor this week and I knew she was small. They weighed her and she was 12 pounds. She is in the 5th percentile. But she also lost a pound while in Texas. She got an ear infection and didn't eat as well and extremely fussy.
She loves to play with crinkly paper. She is also now sitting up.

I finally learned how to french braid!

A couple of my friends have showed me several times how to french braid. Callie has fine hair and it tends to slip real easily. I decided to try it wet and into pig tails. Maybe after I master that I can do her full head. I was very proud of myself.
This was towards the end of the day. It is messy now.

chocolate marshmellow rice krispie dessert

My friend, Kristen, brought this to our Bishop's bbq picnic. It was so good. I love peanut butter and chocolate. You have to try this recipe. Sorry no picture. But trust me, it is delicious. Thanks Kristen

Bottom:
1 cup margarine
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
6 tbsp cocoa
1 cup flour
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Middle:
7 oz marshmellow cream

Top
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups rice krispies

Mix the bottom ingredients and spread in a greased cake pan. Bake for 25-30 min at 350 degrees. (It usually just takes 25 min)

Let cake cool slightly and then spread marshmellow cream over the top.

Heat chocolate chips and peanut butter together (I just melt chocolate chips in microwave and then mix in peanut butter while it's hot)
and mix with rice krispies. Pour over top and chill.

Orange roughy parmesan

We had this for dinner last night. It is a great recipe. If you love fish you have to try it.

Orange Roughy Parmesan

2 pounds orange rough (or your favorite fish) I used mahi mahi and tilapia before. Both were great.

2 tablespoons lemon juice

½ cup fresh parmesan cheese, grated

4 tablespoons butter, melted

3 tablespoons mayonnaise

3 tablespoons green onions

¼ teaspoon salt

pepper to taste

In buttered baking dish place fillets in a single layer. Brush with lemon juice. Let stand about 1 minute. In a small bowl combine melted butter, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, onions, salt and pepper. Broil fillets under preheated broiler for 5 minutes. Spread with cheese mixture and broil an additional 2-3 minutes. Watch closely.

Just relaxing on the lake. Paige loved this little boat. I made sure I was always on a raft. There were little fish that would nibble on you. Very creepy.
We made some shade. Callie and Preston got sunburned the first day.
So cute. His head poking out of the water.
There was about 25 people on 2 houseboats and a trailer at a campground on the lake.
Taylor's mom, his sister and his cousin. It was fun getting to know them better.

Houseboat in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

This is our boat on Lake Eufalla. It was called the Kentucky. My sister Britney, her two girls and my parents drove down and met us in Oklahoma on the houseboat. We were there from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday. Then we drove to Arkansas to Britney's for a few days and went to this coolest Animal Safari. NO pics, my camera died on the houseboat. I left my charger in Texas. I will post them later.
Callie and Preston swam from early in the morning until late at night. She even got swimmers ear.
Preston loved taking a ride on the jet ski's with his daddy.
Tyler, Mikayla, Papa, and Callie going for a ride on the tube.
Preston was so tired he fell asleep on me. Not a great picture of me. Eewww!
