Twilight Movie at Midnight!

A couple of friends from my ward are going to see Twilight tonight at Midnight in Ontario. We are so excited! I will post tomorrow and tell you all how it was. I think it looks really good. I am going to be so exhausted tomorrow. We probably won't get home until 3:00 and my children usually wake up at 6:30 a.m. I took a 2 hours nap tonight so I can stay awake. I am usually in bed by 10:00. I don't think I have been up this late since I was dating Taylor.

Calendar

We also made cute calendar's at Taster's table. They are so cute! You write the dates and then erase it every month with a dry erase marker. You put it on a cute easle or hang it on your wall. You can also change out your ribbon for the different holidays and seasons.

Taffy Apple Pizza!

I took this dessert to a Relief Society activity called Tasters Table. The theme for Tasters Table was apples. This dessert is so easy.

Taffy Apple Pizza
1 package (18 oz) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 medium Granny smith apples peeled, and sliced very thin
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Preheat oven to 350. Shape cookie dough into a ball and place in center of large round stone or pizza pann; flatten lightly. Roll into a 14 inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick. Bake 14-16 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes and loosen cookie from stone using serrated bread knife. Cool completely.

Combine cream cheese, brown sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla in bowl. mix well. Spread mixture onto cookie evenly. Arrange apples into a cute pattern. Microwave caramel ice cream topping for 30 seconds. Drizzle over apples. Sprinkle chopped peanuts over apples. Cut into wedges. So yummy!

Crazy, Forgetful me!!

Yesterday, I went upstairs to get Preston up from his nap. As I did I was cradling him and kissing him. I went down the stairs that way and when I looked down their was poop all the way down the stairs and all over me. So I washed my clothes and gave me and the kids a bath. Then I was thinking what did I do with my cell phone. Oh no, they were in the back of my jean pockets! I went and opened the washer and sure enough there it was. I started screaming. I was so mad at myself. If I had slowed down enough and not freaked out so much about the poop I probably would have remembered it was in my pocket. So I checked my cell phone account and I am due for a free upgrade. Sweet. I went to the Verizon store today and waited in line for an hour and the kids were so well behaved. Right!! They were all over the store. So then I get up to the counter and they can't access my account. I didn't have the right numbers with my cell phone number. Then he told me after all that waiting, he couldn't do anything and I would have to go to another store and they can help me. Ahh!! I wanted to scream. In fact, I think I did. So now I am stuck without a cell phone or a home phone. I feel very stranded without a phone. Just wanted to share my fun phone story with you. I hope I see some better days.

Daddy and Preston

This is in Oak Glen up in the mountains where you can go and pick apples. There is shopping and restaurants. Really good apple pie too. I love this picture of Taylor and Preston. He loves his Daddy.

Santa Monica Beach

We drove down to the beach after we went to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Callie was so excited to go and then once we got there she was kind of scared of the waves. We had a fun time. Preston loved running toward the waves and then away from them. We aren't used to cold water though. The Pacific ocean was like 60 degrees. People were swimming in it. I thought they were crazy.

Strong!

I thought this is a fun picture. I have seen people do this in pics before so I wanted to try it too.

Hollywood, California!

This is overlooking Hollywood. This was taken in September with my brother-in-laws camera and I just got them off it. We took a hike up to the sign. What a great view!

A bride again!

Callie's Halloween costume from last year still fit. I didn't want to spend the money on another one when we moved to a new ward. She loved wearing it again. Her and Preston won "Awesome Costume Award" at our ward party. I think all the kids got one in fact.

Spiderman!

Preston was Spiderman for Halloween. We couldn't get him to wear his hat though. He had so much fun eating candy and just walking around trunk or treating. He is doing his Spiderman move.

Fried Ice cream! My favorite!

This recipe was found by my sister Britney. My family are big connoisseurs of fried ice cream. We tried it a few months ago and loved it. I made it when we first moved to California again and wanted to share it with you.

Fried Ice Cream

6 flour tortillas
vanilla ice cream (blue bell is best)
Fry tortillas in vegetable oil until browned.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and
sugar mixture (1/2 tbs. cinnnamon/1/4 cup sugar)

Crushed up cinnamon toast crunch cereal

Honey butter

1 cup honey
1 cup butter softened
5 tbsp. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla
dash of cinnamon and nutmeg
Warm honey in microwave (30sec-1min)
With mixer add softened butter until blended well.
Add remaining ingredients.

To assemble. Put tortilla in bowl to form shape.
put scoops of ice cream into tortilla.
Drizzle with honey butter.
Put crused up cereal on top.
Enjoy!

Carving pumpkins

For FHE we bought some pumpkins and carved them. Callie thought they were really scary. The next day she kept going outside on the front porch to see if they were okay.

Just relaxing!

He looks so darn cute.

Preston' 1st haircut.

I finally took Preston in for his first haircut. We went to this little barber shop. Preston sat in my lap while getting his haircut. He was really good so he got a sucker and loved it. He looks like a little boy now. He has changed so much. Preston is finally walking too. He has been for about 3 weeks. He is everywhere and into everything. He also likes to go up the stairs. He has fallen down a few times.

Callie's first Ballet class

Callie's first day of Ballet. She went to a friends class once in Texas and absolutely loved it. She has been asking ever since if she could take a class. She does a good job. She listens to the teacher pretty good.

We love the mountians!

This is the view from upstairs. You can see the golf cart. We live on a golf course. Some areas in the neighborhood you have to watch for flying balls. We luckily don't have too. We love the mountains. Their just so beautiful.

Our house in Yucaipa, California!

Our house here in California is about the same size as it was in Texas, but this house is a two story. It makes all the rooms a lot smaller so none of our furniture fits. The one thing I do like about this house is the kitchen. It has granite counter tops and lots of counter space. It has the lighting under the cabinets so you can see while cooking. The things I don't like are the paint and the stairs. The paint is this ugly green color. The owners of the house are going to have someone come and paint it. I will never have a two story again. I run up and down the stairs about 20 times a day. If you forget the kids shoes or have to brush your teeth, up the stairs you go. We do like it our here in Yucaipa. We have adjusted well. Better than we thought we would. We have already made some great friends. For those of you who don't know where Yucaipa is it is 20 minutes from San Berarndino and 35 minutes from Ontario. The other direction is Palm Springs. It is about 30 minutes away.
